SANTA CRUZ: Vegetation fire burning near Branciforte Drive
Multiple fire agencies are on scene of a half acre vegetation fire on Branciforte Drive near Glen Canyon Road and Mill Road in Santa Cruz.
Cal Fire officials said the fire is burning heavy brush and timber.
The fire hasn’t posed a threat to homes and no evacuations have been necessary.
Cal Fire Branciforte Volunteers were joined by Santa Cruz Fire, Scotts Valley Fire, and Central Fire Protection District.
Crews expect to be on scene for another three hours moping up the area.
Branciforte Drive at Glen Canyon Road and Mill Road is temporarily closed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
