Salinas police find 12-gauge shotgun in gangmembers car

A 29-year-old man is behind bars after he led Salinas Police on a vehicle pursuit.

Officer Luis Toribio was on a routine patrol when he saw a driver, Jose Angel Villa commit a traffic violation.

Villa led Officer Toribio on a three mile car chase in the North Salinas area. Villa was finally stopped and taken into custody on Harden Parkway near North Main Street.

A 12-gauge shotgun was found in Villa’s car. He was in possession of psilocybin mushrooms, driving on a suspended driver’s license and in violation of his probation.

Villa went to jail for gang, gun and drug charges.
