New all inclusive playground coming to Toro Park

There’s a new all-inclusive playground in the works at Toro Park, along Highway 68 in Salinas.

An all-inclusive playground called Tatum’s Treehouse will give children the chance to play together with their peers without experiencing any social barriers a disability might cause.

Brought to the community by the Tatum’s Garden foundation, Tatum’s Treehouse will follow a nature inspired, woodland theme to match Toro Park.

Children in the community were able to take part in design days where they drew up the type of playground they wanted to play on. The Leather & Associates team took all the input from the online submissions and several students work and went to the design room for six hours and came out with the final design.

The new playground will be the second all-inclusive playground in Monterey County. The first all-inclusive playground is pictured at the very top.
