Four women accused of stealing lingerie, leading officers on high speed chase

Four women, accused of stealing lingerie from Victoria’s Secret in the Capitola Mall, have been arrested after a high speed chase Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers said a theft was reported at the store inside the mall around noon and a short time later, the women were spotted inside a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta.

Capitola PD chased after the car but asked for backup after the women ended up on Highway 1 southbound toward Aptos. The chase was called off near the Fishhook for safety reasons, CHP said.

Officers said the women were spotted again by Santa Cruz PD, just before they got on northbound Highway 17. The women were later arrested by Scotts Valley PD near Sugarloaf Rd., according to CHP.

The women are tied to another investigation into a recent theft at the Victoria’s Secret inside Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey, CHP said.
