Man arrested for a shooting in Watsonville

A man accused of shooting into a home in Watsonville was arrested a few hours after the incident Wednesday.

Watsonville police said shots were fired shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Clifford Avenue. No one was hurt. Officers were not able to find the suspect, but shortly after that a resident called police to report someone had broken into her home. The home was several houses away from the scene of the shooting.

Officers responded and were able to detain Andre Lopez.

Lopez was later arrested after evidence linked him to the shooting and burglaries. Lopez also had an arrest warrant for being a parolee at large.
