Gang member arrested in King City
A gang member is in custody after being caught with a loaded handgun and cocaine in King City.
King City Police said 22-year-old Luis Fernando Garcia is also accused of vandalizing a front door to a home on South San Lorenzo Avenue Tuesday.
Officers found Garcia next to a school on Calcagno Street. They then found a loaded semi-automatic handgun during a pat down check. They also found seven grams of cocaine on Garcia.
Garcia is an active southern gang member.
He was booked into the Monterey County Jail for several charges including possession of a concealed loaded weapon on a person in public, and possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a school.
