Missing Morgan Hill at-risk teen found in San Jose, police say
UPDATE 5/12/17 10:40 a.m.: Desirae Akins-Qualls, first reported missing on on May 4, was located by San Jose police in San Jose Friday morning, according to Morgan Hill police.
PREVIOUS STORY: The Morgan Hill Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing at-risk teen, who hasn’t been seen since she left her house last Thursday.
Officers said Desirae Akins-Qualls, 18, reportedly walked to the bus stop at Monterey Rd. and Vineyard Blvd. to board a VTA bus headed to San Jose.
However, police said Akins-Qualls never showed up at her school in San Jose and has not been seen or heard from since.
Police explained Akins-Qualls has a history of depression, but has not made any suicide threats and did not appear upset when she left her home.
She was last seen wearing a colored top with black and white leggings, is 5 foot 5, about 225 pounds, with long brown hair and hazel eyes, police said.
