Seaside Police arrest two home burglary suspects

Seaside police arrested two home burglary suspects with the help of alert neighbors.

Police say 20-year-old Alan Edwards and 20-year-old Manual Rodriguez broke into a home on Yosemite Street around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. When officers got there, the two exited from the back of the home and started jumping nearby home fences. Officers caught Rodriguez right away, but Edwards led them on a short foot chase before he was taken into custody.

According to police, the two Salinas men targeted the home at random and knocked on the front door. When no one answered, they made their way to the backyard and forced their way into the home through a locked door.

Police encourage community members to continue to report suspicious activity.
