Police seek person accused of stealing race car, trailer

Santa Cruz police are looking for those responsible for stealing a 32-foot trailer and a race car early Saturday morning from the 300 block of River Street.

The trailer contained about $35,000 worth of tools in addition to the race car, according to officers.

Police said the thief first stole a van from the property. After taking the van, the thief came back with a truck and stole the race car and trailer, they said.

The van was found the next day. Police are looking for the culprit.
