House destroyed by fire in Marina

A home caught fire in Marina leaving a family of five without a place to live.

According to the Marina Fire Department, the fire started at a single story home on Reservation Road Sunday morning. Two people were inside at the time, but they made it out safely.

Firefighters quickly put out the flames, but the house was destroyed.

Firefighters said the investigation revealed that the fire started in the living room where the natural gas line feeds into the wall heater. It has been ruled accidental.

The American Red Cross is helping find temporary shelter for the residents.
