Hollister man killed during crash at landfill

A Hollister man was killed during an accident at a local landfill, according to the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Alfredo Prado Canella, 65, was found dead after an accident involving a vehicle at John Smith Road Landfill Thursday morning. It was determined that Canella was a pedestrian and died as a result of the crash.

California Highway Patrol also responded and Cal OSHA was notified of the incident.
