North Monterey County schools closed Tuesday

Classes are canceled Tuesday, Feb. 21 for students in the North Monterey County School District due to a high wind advisory, potential flooding and downed trees, according to a district statement.

The closure was issued Monday for these schools: Castroville Elementary, Echo Valley Elementary, Elkhorn Elementary, Prunedale Elementary, North County Middle School and North Monterey County High School, Central Bay High School, independent study school, adult education classes, preschool classes and child care programs.

Schools and programs are scheduled to re-open on Wednesday.
