Salinas man injured in late night drive-by shooting

Salinas police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened just after 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on Elkington Avenue.

Police say ShotSpotter recorded multiple gunshots and when officers arrived on scene they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Police say he was inside his home when he was shot.

Police have recovered bullet casings from the home’s driveway, but have not identified any suspects.

The man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
