Driver dies in rollover accident

A 60-year-old Aptos man was killed and two others injured Saturday in a rollover accident near Siliman Road in Watsonville.

According to the CHP, the driver — whose name was not immediately released — died after apparently losing control of his 1957 Jeep CJ-5 on a private driveway at 369 Siliman Road. The Jeep rolled over, ejecting all three occupants.

Emergency personnel from Cal Fire, Watsonville Fire Department and AMR provided medical aid, but the driver died at the scene.

Two passengers were taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor.
