Big Sur schools will be closed due to possible flooding

Big Sur schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday due to possible flooding.

City officials in Big Sur have made adjustments to several school schedules in the area for the safety of students and staff.

According to city officials, Captain Cooper Elementary School and Apple Pie Preschool will be closed Friday.

City officials said there will be no bus transportation to or from Big Sur on Friday.

Captain Cooper Elementary School and Apple Pie Preschool students were released today at 2:00 p.m.

According to city officials, there was a special bus run to take Carmel Middle School and Carmel High School students to Big Sur at 12:30 after lunch today in advance of the storm.

Some CMS and CHS students have opted to stay in Carmel with “host families” tonight.
