Flooding near southbound Highway 101 in Gilroy

UPDATE 2/7/17 3:40 p.m.: Highway 101 southbound is back open for now, according to California Highway Patrol.

Crews are monitoring the area closely, in case another closure is necessary.

PREVIOUS STORY: Highway 101 southbound is shut down at 10th Street in Gilroy due to flooding near Monterey Rd., according to California Highway Patrol.

A SigAlert was issued at 2:18 p.m. by CHP. It is not clear when southbound lanes will re-open and traffic is being diverted to eastbound 152 to westbound 156.

Northbound traffic is still open, according to CHP.
