Salinas police said four men have been arrested in connection to a shooting that wounded one
Salinas police said four men are now behind bars in connection to a shooting that wounded one back in April.
According to Salinas officers, three gunmen walked up on a group of men playing cards on the hood of a car and began shooting on the 2100 block of North Main Street in Salinas in April 2016.
Police said one victim was hit multiple times, but he survived.
According to police, the suspects then drove away in a white SUV.
Investigators said they were able to get warrants by the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office for 20-year-old Michael Ray Serrano, 26-year-old Juan Carlos Ceja, 20-year-old Fausto Samuel Arellano and 37-year-old Miguel Angel Zendejas, charging them with attempted murder and gang enhancements.
Today, various agencies of Monterey County served search warrants and probation search at four separate locations.
One of the search warrants was in the 1000 block of Connely Street and the 1000 block of Baldwin Street. Police said Zendejas was arrested at the Connely address without incident.
Officers said they they also arrested Xochitl Sanchez on Connely for having an outstanding probation warrant. Police said they found two guns and other gang-related materials.
The second search warrant was on Baldwin Street. Police said they entered the home but there was no one inside. Officers said they eventually contacted a homeowner who said Ceja had turned himself in to ICE in Yuba.
Police said they have sent an arrest warrant to ICE and they will arrange to get Ceja to Monterey County.
The third search warrant was served in the 700 block of East Romie Lane, where police said they arrested Arellano without incident.
The final arrest was made in the 1500 block of Spoleto Drive, where Serrano answered the door. He was taken into custody without incident.
All four men will be charged with attempted murder.
