Victims lured into armed robbery in Santa Cruz after “exotic dancer” Craigslist ad

Santa Cruz Police arrested three people, after two men were lured into an armed robbery by an ”exotic dancer” ad on Craiglist.

Police say it all happened at a motel room on the 600 Block of Riverside Avenue, when the victims gave money to the woman who they assumed was going to dance for them.

She said she was going to get the rest of the dancers, only to return with three men. When the victims realized the men were not the dancers they hired, they asked for their money back. One of the suspects pointed a gun at them and both victims ran away.

After a two hour search, police were able to arrest Timothy Towsel, Denzel Freeman and Maria Elena Torres. One other suspect is outstanding.
