Caltrans road report for Friday
Highway 9 at Glengarry Road will reopen to traffic at noon Friday, according to Caltrans. The two-and-a-half mile stretch between Glengarry Rd. and Rincon Railroad crossing had been closed for maintenance repairs.
Caltrans also reports that Highway 9 is now open at the Santa Cruz/San Mateo County line.
Here is the status for other Central Coast roads:
State Route 1
Closed from Ragged Point (San Luis Obispo County) to Lucia (Monterey County) due to rock/mudslides and trees down in multiple locations.
Motorists may travel south on Highway 1 from Carmel to Lucia, or travel north from Cambria to Ragged Point.
In addition there is a full closure on Highway 1 at Mud Creek due to an active mud/rock slide within the existing boundary of this closure. There is no limited access through this area for local residents at this time. There is no estimated time when this section of the highway will re-open.
Highway 17
Open in both directions in Santa Cruz County from Vinehill Road to Sugarloaf Road.
Highway 35
Open from from Summit Road at the Santa Cruz/Santa Clara County line to Bear Creek Road following an incident involving downed trees and power lines.
State Route 41
Closed from Ironwood Drive to San Gabriel Road, between Morro Bay and Atascadero in San Luis Obispo County. This closure due to mud/rock slides is anticipated to last until mid-February, weather permitting.
Highway 41 businesses remain open.
State Route 152
Open in Santa Cruz County from 2.1 miles east of Watsonville at Carlton Road/Casserly Road to the Santa Cruz/Santa Clara County.
