Deadly baseball attack on Christmas day
A Gilroy man is facing a charge of murder, suspected in the deadly attack of his mother with a baseball bat on Christmas day.
Responding to a report of a domestic disturbance, Santa Clara Sheriff’s deputies found Claudia Salewske, 70, suffering from head trauma. She died several hours later at the hospital, according to officials.
Deputies found Matthew Salewske, 39, at the home on Roop Road in unincorporated Gilroy. He was arrested and jailed in Santa Clara on a charge of murder.
The investigation is still on-going, according to the Office of the Sheriff in Santa Clara County.
