Warning on eucalyptus trees after deadly incident

Eucalyptus trees can fall apart easily. That’s according to a tree expert in Seaside, who is learning more about a deadly incident involving a tree at a Southern California wedding, killing one person and injuring several more.

On Saturday, authorities said a wedding party was taking pictures when a eucalyptus tree fell at a park in Whittier. It’s not clear which member of the wedding party was killed or why the tree fell.

A local tree expert says eucalyptus trees can break apart over a short period of time and just part of the tree can weigh thousands of pounds.
