101 shooting: Two suspects arrested, one still missing

Two men are in custody and one man is still on the run after a highway shooting that ended in a crash Tuesday night in Gonzales.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened on Highway 101 near the Gloria Rd. exit. No one was injured.

Soledad Police found the suspects’ car near a McDonalds in Soledad and pursued the car onto the freeway, where the suspects crashed to an embankment on Highway 101 near 5th Street in Gonzales. Police found a loaded assault rifle and handgun inside the car.

Two men, Ricardo Alfaro, 23, and Daniel Jimenez Patino, 19, both of King City were arrested. A third suspect, Lazo Gerardo, 34, of King City is still at large.
