Morning anchor/reporter

Position: Anchor/Reporter

KION TV will have an opening at the end of January 2017 for a morning anchor/reporter on our CBS affiliate in Monterey, California. KION TV is in a competitive, visible market on the Central Coast of California.

We’re looking for a newsroom leader who can command the anchor desk and connect with viewers during our weekday 5am-7am newscast. Our ideal candidate has strong editorial judgment and can deliver the news in an authentic and conversational way. The winning candidate can write clear, compelling and timely news copy not only for broadcast, but for the station’s website and social media networks. Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond to last minute changes a must. Experience anchoring and some public appearances required. The morning anchor contributes to producing the two-hour newscast.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required. Two to four years of television broadcasting experience is preferred. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check. A valid driver’s license is required.
