Former Scotts Valley mayor arrested for DUI
Dene Bustichi, Scotts Valley’s former mayor, was arrested Thursday for DUI, according to Scotts Valley Police.
It happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night near the intersection of Bean Creek Road and Christel Oaks Drive.
Witnesses told officers that they saw a vehicle drive off the road, hit a street sign, then continue to drive off toward Scotts Valley Drive.
Officers caught up with the vehicle to find Bustichi inside, with a blood alcohol content above the legal limit.
He is charged with drunk driving and failing to stop at an accident.
