Drugs easy to find, students say

Following the officer-involved shooting that claimed the life of Luke Smith, 15, of Aptos, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies raided an apartment Saturday in the 1000 block of Pacific Street in Santa Cruz.

They arrested four people and seized a quantity of drugs, including blotter paper, which can be laced with LSD.

Deputies believe Smith was under the influence of LSD, and possibly other drugs, when he allegedly stabbed his father and uncle before being shot by a deputy early Saturday morning.
