Man shot several times in East Salinas

UPDATE 11/1/16 7:39 AM: The 28-year-old man shot Monday night underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

Previous Story: Police are investigating a shooting in East Salinas that sent one man to the hospital.

According to Salinas Police, it happened shortly before 9 p.m. Monday near the 900 block of Acosta Plaza.

A 28-year-old man was shot several times. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center for surgery.

Police don’t have any suspect information at this time. Officers said as of right now, the shooting doesn’t appear to be gang-related, but the investigation is ongoing.
