New SWAT team launching in Watsonville

The Watsonville Police Department is launching a new SWAT program. The department has never had a SWAT team of its own and typically depends on the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers on the team have been going through training and will continue practicing in the coming weeks.
