Hoppy suds for a local cause
The seventh annual Hop N’ Barley Beer Festival kicked off at Skypark in Scotts Valley.
Attendees got unlimited samples of 100 types of beer from 60 craft breweries and 10 cideries.
Of course food and entertainment was also part of the fun.
Organizers told KION it brings out thousands of people every year.
“There is a huge demand for craft beer in Santa Cruz,” said Patrick Grube with the Hop N’ Barley Beer Festival. “People are getting off the light beers and the percentage of people drinking craft beer increases.”
Proceeds from the event will go towards helping build more transitional housing in Santa Cruz.
