First-ever accessible playground planned in Santa Cruz County

Fundraising is underway to raise nearly two million dollars to finance Leo’s Haven, a playground designed for all kids, regardless of their physical abilities.

The proposed park would be built in Santa Cruz County and would include the playground, bathrooms and a parking lot.

“Leo’s Haven is going to be the first fully-inclusive playground in Santa Cruz County and it will allow children with special needs to play side-by-side with their able-bodied peers,” said Tricia Potts, a project organizer.

Leo’s Haven will feature a farm theme, complete with a tractor.
