San Jose man killed in Santa Cruz Highway 1 crash

A man from San Jose was killed during a crash at Highway 1 and River St. in Santa Cruz Monday night, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers said the 35-year-old man was riding his motorcycle southbound and lost control, crashing into a concrete wall at about 7:15pm. The rider was hit by another car and the driver did not stay on scene, CHP said.

CHP is looking for more information on this crash and is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call the Santa Cruz area CHP office at 831-662-0511.

The rider’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
