Santa Cruz transients accused of selling drugs to undercover officers

Four people are behind bars after a drug bust in Santa Cruz.

According to police, the Santa Cruz Police Neighborhood Enforcement Team and Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team conducted a narcotics sting operation on Friday, February 19 th .

46-year-old Rafael Saldana, 41-year-old Juan Gonzalez, 59-year-old Bejamin Kirkley and 37-year-old John Pitts were arrested for conspiracy and sales of narcotics to undercover officers.

Police said the four transients sold methamphetamine and heroin to the officers.

They were taken into custody by San Lorenzo Park and the east river levee of the San Lorenzo River near Riverside Avenue.
