UPDATE: 14-year-old suffers life-threatening gunshot wounds in Watsonville

UPDATE 2/24/16 2:45 AM:Police say the 14-year-old victim was with a group of other minors when the suspect approached him and a confrontation ensued.

The suspect chased the victim, shooting him multiple times. He was air lifted to a Bay Area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 25-year-old Hispanic man, about 5’5″ with light complexion and a thin fix.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle, traveling northbound on Hushbeck.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Watsonville Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent a teenager to a Bay Area hospital Tuesday.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. on East Beach Street near Hushbeck Avenue. Police said the teenager was shot multiple times. He was flown to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time.
