Missing San Jose man swept out to sea near Davenport Beach has been identified

DAVENPORT, Calif. (KION-TV) -- UPDATE 9/16/21 3:26 p.m.: The San Jose man who was swept out to sea near Davenport has been identified.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office identified the 26-year-old man as David Guzman.

Investigators say the man is still missing as of Thursday afternoon.

Search and rescue operations continue after a San Jose man was swept out to sea near Davenport Beach.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on September 12.

Deputies have only identified the man as a 26-year-old from San Jose.

They say search efforts are ongoing in the Davenport area.
