Position: Part-time Weekend News Producer & Fill-in Producer

KION-TV in Monterey/Salinas, California has an opening for a part-time weekend News Producer. This position will be responsible for producing and writing our weekend evening newscasts. We are looking for a journalist with solid news judgment, strong writing and producing skills, a team player who thrives on deadlines and breaking news. This is not an on-air reporting position, nor is it a technical production position.

Candidates should be organized and highly skilled at time management and problem solving. Prior news writing, producing experience and familiarity with social media a big plus. Willing to train the right candidate.

A valid California driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required. Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.
