UPDATE 11/20/2015 10:30 AM: It only took a jury two hours to find Francisco Miranda guilty of two counts of second-degree murder in a case that began two years ago.
Miranda is now convicted of running over and killing two women outside of Natividad Medical Center in November of 2013. He was also found guilty of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence of marijuana and and enhancement for leaving the scene of the crime.
One of the victims was a security guard at the hospital; the other, a patient. The guard, Linda Williams, was helping patient Cynthia Lane when she fell over in the street after being discharged from the hospital.
Before that deadly crash in November, he had two previous DUI convictions in 2013 in which judges told him if he got behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated and killed someone, he could face murder charges.
The defense and prosecution rested Monday, with closing arguments Tuesday, and the verdict Thursday.
The judge set a sentencing date of January 14, Miranda faces a possible life sentence.
