Three arrested in Salinas home burglary that prompted school lockdown

Santa Rita School was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, as officers investigated a burglary on Jackson Street in Salinas.

Officers say they got an anonymous tip about three men with masks entering a home.

When police arrived, they surrounded the house. Two of the suspects tried to escape, but were stopped using a taser.

Police say a third suspect tried to evade capture by trying to change his clothes inside the home.

Daniel Contreras, Jesus Nieto and Miguel Nieto were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
