Police investigate jewelry store burglary in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz police are investigating a burglary at a jewelry store that happened Saturday morning.

It happened on the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue on Jan. 9 just before 5 a.m.

Surveillance video captured two suspects breaking several jewelry cases and stealing several items once inside the store, police said.

A witness described a late model 1990 dark colored Mercedes driving away from the scene. The vehicle was also described as having paint peeling from the hood, police said.
