UPDATE: Pregnant seal that tried to cross highway out of danger’s way

UPDATE 12/29/15 4:30 PM: Negotiations have ended peacefully between the seal and marine experts.

According to The Marine Mammal Center’s Facebook page, wildlife experts sedated the seal. They will now relocate her.

ORIGINAL STORY: A wayward seal in Sonoma County is determined to cross the highway.

Wildlife experts, including Marine Mammal Center officials, have been trying to keep the pregnant elephant from crossing the highway for two days now. The 900-pound mom is currently swimming in an area near the highway.

On Tuesday morning, the Marine Mammal center used a kayak and bullhorns to try and scare the seal back into the ocean.
