UPDATE: Second person dead in Aromas deadly crash Monday night

UPDATE 12/23/2015 4:08 PM: California Highway Patrol said the male driver involved in a crash at Chittenden Rd. and School Rd. in Aromas Monday night died at the hospital.

Officers said that driver was Filemon Luna-Martinez, 27, from Oxnard. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center and a female passenger died at the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person was killed during a car crash Monday night in Aromas, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers said the accident happened just before 4 pm at Chittenden Rd. and School Rd. They said a car was traveling westbound and spun into oncoming traffic. The car was hit on the passenger side by a van traveling eastbound.

Officers said the passenger died and the driver of the car has serious injuries. The van drive had minor injuries.
