The force awakened at Salinas Valley Comic Con

Star Wars not only took over movie theaters this weekend but also the second annual Salinas Valley Comic Con.

More than 30 vendors sold unique comic books and art.

Organizers tell us they expect more than two thousand people to come out this weekend.

The big draw this year is Star Wars.

Star Wars panels and fan clubs were part of the excitement bringing more people through the doors.

“I think everybody was already in the mood for a lot of fun, pop culture, nerds especially me,” said Salinas Valley Comic Con director Jesse Banda. “But I think we’ve been able to piggyback on that as well to keep the fun and momentum going.”

The event was held in the National Steinbeck Center.

Organizers say fans are already demanding another Comic Con for next year.
