One severely burned in hash oil lab explosion

The Santa Cruz Police Department is investigating a hash oil lab following an explosion that severely burned someone.

On Wednesday, the Santa Cruz Fire Department responded to the explosion at an apartment complex on Lindberg Street. The explosion happened in a garage on the first floor. Firefighters said hash oil manufacturing caused the explosion.

Firefighters had to rescue someone in the garage. The victim was severely burned and flown to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s burn unit.
