Covered California deadline extended

The Obama administration has extended the deadline to enroll for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

The reason — high demand.

In the days leading up to the original December 15 deadline, officials said hundreds of thousands of people were picking out plans on healthcare.org.

Americans now have until midnight Thursday to enroll for coverage that begins January 1.
