Police arrest man behind robberies in Marina
Marina Police arrested a man Wednesday they said is behind multiple robberies in the city. It all started late Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, when two burglaries happened in different areas.
Police said items like jewelry, credit cards, tools, a purse, and more were stolen. A victim was able to give officers a description of the suspect.
Then just before 2:30 a.m., a subject matching the description was found in front of a convenience store. Police said that subject turned out to be in possession of the stolen property from both burglaries.
That suspect was identified as Gilberto Ojeda from Salinas. Ojeda was arrested for burglary, theft, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, use of a credit card, and a probation violation.
The victims received all of their stolen property back.
The Marina Police Department is urging locals to remember to be cautious this holiday season. They ask citizens to remember to lock all vehicles and make sure valuables are not kept inside them.
