Salinas police investigate 35th homicide of the year
A young man is dead after a shooting Sunday night in Salinas. It happened just after 9:00 p.m. in front of 703 Elton Place.
Officers arrived on scene and were directed to the victim. They found 21-year-old Juan Diego Morales Quiroz in the parking lot just off of the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced Quiroz dead at the scene. Investigators say it appears he was walking his dog at the time.
Numerous people heard the gunshots, but could not provide any suspect or vehicle information.
