A Pebble Beach couple is opening doors for California State University Monterey Bay. Joel and Dena Gambord donated $10 million to CSUMB, marking the largest donation the university has every received.

“Our campus is very honored by this generous gift from Joel and Dena Gambord, the largest gift ever given to CSUMB,” President Eduardo Ochoa told the board.”Joel and Dena Gambord together have been successful in real estate development in California, applying their tenacious work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and strong sense of community responsibility.”

The money will set up two endowed professorships, pay for student scholarships, and establish an entrepreneurship fund.

The entrepreneurship fund will help students launch products from concept to market.

As for the endowed professorships, Joel Gambord’s name will be in business entrepreneurship and Dena’s will be in nursing.
