CHP not giving up on hit & run crash investigation

It’s been about a month since a hit and run crash sent a 62-year-old Watsonville man to the hospital.

The driver that caused the crash drove off in his 2013 Honda Accord, leaving the 62-year-old and a 23-year-old passenger in a 2008 Ford Taurus on the side of the road.

Even though it’s been a month, the California Highway Patrol is not giving up on this investigation.

The agency recently obtained a photograph of who they believe is the suspect. Now, they’re asking for the public’s help in identifying and finding him. A hit and run is a felony.

The crash happened on Oct. 5 on Highway 1 south, north of State Park Drive. According to CHP, the suspect was leaving a bar in downtown Santa Cruz that night, believed to be heading toward Watsonville.

Anyone with information is asked to call Santa Cruz CHP at 831-662-0511.
