Rain harvesting during El Nio
Looking to bank on El Nio this year? Several Central Coast cities are helping you do just that in a unique way.
Starting in Capitola, the city is offering property owners, residents, and businesses discounted rain barrels. City council reduced the original $70 price tag to $50.
Those interested need to order the rain barrels by Dec. 6 for pick up at Capitola City Hall on Saturday, Dec. 12.

In Monterey, the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District will host three Water Wise Workshops on rainwater harvesting.
1. Greywater System and Rainwater Harvesting Classes
Date: Sat., November 7, 2015
Greywater: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Rainwater: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
“Description: Join expert Dan Finklea as he discusses the water and money saving advantages to installing a greywater and rainwater harvesting systems at this FREE workshop. Lunch will be provided to attendees of both classes.”

2. Rainwater Harvesting System Installation
