Newscast Director/Editor/Videographer

KION TV on California’s Central Coast has an immediate opening for a full-time Newscast Director /Editor/Videographer. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter and team player, motivated to learn and implement the latest technology. We’re looking for a proactive problem solver who can direct newscasts, edit video, operate field camera and live truck and create graphics. Ability to maintain composure under tight deadlines. Must be dependable, willing to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays and able to carry up to 50 lbs of equipment. Willing to train the right person on some job duties.

Essential Job Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
-Directing newscasts with automatic production control system
-Editing for newscasts
-Shooting video in the field
-Post video to website
-Create graphics using Adobe Photoshop / Deko

Required Skills / Education / Certification:
-1 year news experience preferred
-Proficient using non-linear editing systems
-Experienced in a News control room
-Posses excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
-Spanish skills a plus
