Central Coast Heart Walk this Saturday in Monterey

Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans and not just for adults. Each year, more than one million babies are born with a heart defect.

On Wednesday, we spoke with Thalia and Toula Hubbard of Salinas about the American Heart Association and it’s commitment to advancing public policies. Those policies allow children like Thalia and adults to live longer with heart defects.

The AHA will hold the Heart and Stroke Walk on Saturday at Custom House Plaza in Monterey starting at 9 a.m. NewsChannel 5 Morning Anchor Ashley Allen will be there as well.

Funds raised through Saturday’s walk will benefit life-saving research, local education and outreach programs.
