SPCA evacuates more than 100 animals from Tassajara Fire

The SPCA for Monterey County said its working behind fire lines to rescue animals from the Tassajara Fire in Carmel Valley.

By Sunday evening, SPCA disaster response teams said they rescued three goats, four miniature donkeys, one horse, three dogs, 36 chickens, two rabbits, four cats and one bird.

The SPCA said it also helped 50 doves and 14 chickens.

Anyone who needs help with evacuating animals can call the SPCA at 831-373-2631 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or after hours at 831-646-5534.
